How to Borrow a Bike

- Show up at Recovery Bike Shop during Art-a-Whirl (10am Friday May 15 - 6pm Sunday May 17)
- Pick out a bike (first come, first served)
- Sign a waiver
- Promise to ride safely (bring a helmet or borrow one of ours - first come, first served)
- Promise to keep bike secured (bring a lock or borrow one of ours - first come, first served)
- Leave $50 deposit
- Return bike before 6pm Sunday (end of Art-a-Whirl) to get your deposit back

Get yourself to Recovery Bike Shop however you need to. We’ll help you pick out a bike to borrow and get you sized up. If you have a helmet or a bike lock, bring those. We’ll have a few to loan out if you don’t, but this is your responsibility.

We’ve got a liability waiver we’ll need you to sign. Otherwise, the world is yours. Or at least Art-a-Whirl is yours. Please ride safely. There are A LOT of cars in Northeast for Art-a-Whirl. Lots of pedestrians too. And we’re working on adding lots of bikes as well.

Keep the bike for an hour or all weekend. Return it when you’re done. Just make sure to have it back to us by 6pm on Sunday. After that we will be closed and we will charge your credit card (or keep your cash) for the purchase of the bike (regardless of whether or not you return it after 6pm on Sunday).

Last but not least, do consider joining us for Sparcle starting at 6pm in the garage of Recovery Bike Shop. We will be lighting up our rides with some free lights. Bring your own if you have them. At sunset (8:15pm), we will head out into the night for a group ride to surprise destinations throughout the Arts District.
